Former Gold rifle shooter Subedar Major Fateh Singh, who was 51 years old killed on Saturday while with fighting terrorists in Pathankot. In 1st Commonwealth Shooting Championship held at New Delhi he won a gold medal for India. Currently he was posted at the Dogra regiment and was part of the DSC (Defence Security Corps).
The NRAI (National Rifle Association of India) mourned his death.
Subedar Major Fateh Singh sacrificed his life for motherland during the attack of militants. He was also known for his outstanding performance in athletics.
Terrorists, suspected to be from Pakistan breached a high-security perimeter and entered the Indian Air Force (IAF) base near Pathankot early on Saturday.
NRAI president Raninder Singh said: “ The country has lost its beloved son and a sharp shooter. May Almighty grant peace to the Great Soldier.
