Officer Intelligence Test DAY 1
Officer Intelligence Rating or OIR Test which is conducted on the very first day of SSB. It is a written test where intelligence level of a candidate is tested. This test falls under Screening test. Screening test is categorized into two rounds: OIR and PPDT. The final merit list is prepared on the basis of performances in OIR & PPDT.

OIR test comprises of two test booklets:
- Each booklet has around 50-55 questions
- The duration to attempt these questions: 17 Minutes time
- There is no negative marking
OIR is considered very easy. I would say be calm to crack OIR test. As we have mentioned there is no negative marking so try to attempt all the questions. Let’s know about OIR test syllabus
Officer Intelligence Rating Test Syllabus
Officer Intelligence Rating Test consists of two sections Verbal and Non-verbal:
- Antonym and synonym
- one word substitution
- common sense and alphabet test
- Jumbled words
- Multiple choice question
- Reconstruction of sentence
- Odd one out
- Arithmetic questions.
Non-verbal section in Officer Intelligence Rating Test consist of questions based on topics such as:
- Completion of series
- Fill in the correct figure
- Which figure is different from the other
- Locate the concealed figure
Officer Intelligence Rating Test Sample Questions
1) Blood Relation
Q) Pointing to a photograph of a boy Suresh said, “He is the son of the only son of my mother.” How is Suresh related to that boy?
2) Cube Set
Q) Choose the box that is similar to the box formed from the given sheet of paper (X).

3) Coding and Decoding
Q) If TAP is coded as SZO, then how is FREEZE coded ?
4) One Word Substitution
